What Are You Reading?
It’s been busy. And my reading is slipping. Twilight by Stephanie Meyers has been on my bedside table for over ten days. The story is suspenseful, the love story between Edward and Bella touching, and heck, I’m seriously starting to wish for some smoldering eyes looking back at me.
But, the problem is that life has been interfering lately. Too much life. Changes. And I’m not able to read as much as I’d like. My library stack has been renewed twice, I think I’m at the end, it’s read or return.
But, maybe it’s not as bad as I think. I AM writing. Let’s take stock.
Currently Writing:
- Draft Three of Weaving Magic. I finally hit on the overarching theme of this book. It was so obvious I’m not sure why I didn’t see it before…except for perhaps the “so obvious” factor might have had something to do with it. Buzzing along on this draft now.
- Outlining a Non-Fiction book idea for an editor I spoke with in late August. Mmmmm……probablem is my current reading in YA and MG literature is lacking and it’s showing in this outline.
Presenting
- Sno-Isle Library Auditions. Writing the Supernatural Story; Summer Adventures. Fingers crossed.
- Write on the Sound: Plotting and Plodding, Sat. Oct 7, Edmonds Arts Commission Annual Writing Conference, Edmonds, Washington http://www.ci.edmonds.wa.us/artscommission/wots.stm
- Hugo House: Characters are People Too: A one day, four hour course on character. Good course for those just starting a project or wanting to know more about writing for kids. www.hugohouse.org
Reading…..Uh, uh, uh….
