NaNoWriMo

on October 9, 2010

NaNoWriMo is coming.  NaNoWriMo, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month, is where writers of all levels pledge to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. The month of November is set aside for NaNoWriMo. I’ve participated twice in NaNoWriMo. Both times I found the whole process of writing a 50,000 word novel in a month to be invigorating and challenging.

I’ve also participated as a NaNoWriMo workshop presenter for the King County Library System.

And this is what I like best about NaNoWriMo...the sense of community which is created for writers during the month of November. There are workshops, write-ins, and author readings which spring up everywhere.

Check out the King County Library’s NaNoWriMo Workshops. They’re free and you don’t have to be participating in NaNoWriMo...but if you are…these workshops are great ways to keep your momentum going during November’s NaNoWriMo.
