Doodle Diary

on November 16, 2010

A few weeks ago, when I was at Journal Fest, I had the opportunity to meet Dawn DeVries Sokol in a great workshop by Carla Sonheim called, Wretched Girl Journaling. It was a great class and everyone had a good time.

One of the things Dawn is doing this month on her blog is posting a word a day for NaNoJoumo. Art journalists are encouraged to do something every day in their journal. Dawn emphasizes this does not have to be a page. It can simply be glueing something on the page or drawing a doodle.

On her blog, Dawn posts some great words to inspire art journaling. There are also pictures people are posting of their journal page. Great inspiration!

Dawn also has a new book out, Doodle Diary and Art Journaling for Girls. I’m thinking this is a great book for either a girl who likes to do journaling or art….OR…..a writer who writes for girls in the 8-12 age range and needs to refresh her own creative juices. Just a thought…
