Glass Art Mural

on March 27, 2011

I love when high school students do artistic projects which benefit communities.Recently,  Cascade High School students have been working on a glass art mural which will be placed in the doorway to a community health clinic. Students worked with local glass artist, Bob Mitchell, to design the mural.

As a part of the design process,  students went to Spectrum Glass in Woodinville to get crushed glass. Each of the thousands of pieces of glass that would be glued into the 10-by-10-foot mural had to be hand washed and dried. They worked over their Christmas breaks, they worked long hours after-school and gave up weekends. The project was unveiled on Friday. Pictures below.
