Wounded Warriors and The Fleur-De-Lys Mansion

on October 26, 2013

My fascination with old hotels doesn’t end with the Elmheart Hotel romance stories. I also love to stay in historic inns and bed and breakfasts when I travel. A few years ago, I returned to the St Louis area to attend a high school reunion. During that trip,  I stayed at The Fleur-De-Lys Mansion.

The Fleur-De-Lys Mansion is a four-bedroom inn located in the Central West End of St. Louis. You can read a little bit about the history here.

Recently, I learned of a very special Veterans Day offer to Wounded Warriors from the Fluer-De-Lys Mansion:

The Fluer-De-Lys Mansion participates in the Professional Association of Innkeepers International to honor Veterans on Veterans Day by offering a free night stay to Veterans.  However, this year, The Inn is honoring Wounded Warriors and their loved ones.

There is a very touching story of a Wounded Warrior here:  http://www.thefleurdelys.com/pdfs/Love-Story-Wounded-Warrior.pdf

The Fluer-De-Lys is opening all four of their rooms to Wounded Warriors on Monday, November 11, 2013.  If you know a Wounded Warrior that would enjoy a stay at the Mansion, please have them contact either by email at reservations@thefleurdelys.com or by phone at 314-773-3500Names will be collected  and there will be a lottery-type drawing one week in advance to select four couples.  (Please note that all of the rooms in our historical home are on the second floor and there is no elevator.)

Now this is a real life hotel love story!
